Limits
Limits apply per API key and per endpoint group. Settings shows the numbers for your keys under API keys.
| Group | Limits |
|---|---|
| Markets | LimitsRequests per minute per key, and per client address. |
| On-chain | LimitsRequests per minute per key, and a monthly API credit of on-chain requests per account. |
API credit
Each account has a monthly API credit of on-chain requests, and each on-chain request uses one. The credit renews at the start of each month, UTC.
When a limit is reached
The API returns 429 with these headers:
| Header | Meaning |
|---|---|
Retry-After | MeaningSeconds until the limit accepts another request. |
X-RateLimit-Limit | MeaningThe number of requests the limit allows in its window. |
X-RateLimit-Remaining | MeaningAlways 0 on a 429. |
X-RateLimit-Reset | MeaningThe Unix time in seconds at which the window ends. |
The body has error set to rate limit exceeded, or to API credit for this month is spent when the API credit is used up.
Requests from one client address are also limited across the whole API. That limit returns 429 with Retry-After, without the other headers above and without the API's JSON body.
